Introducing the Overlander.

The Overlander is designed to be comfortable across a wide variety of conditions. It's great for daily shaves and with multiple days of growth. At home in your den, on a business trip, or at the cabin, the Overlander is there when you need it.

Like with the CB before it, the Overlander is intuitive to use. It's on the more efficient side of the spectrum, but not overly so. A moderate amount of blade exposure is combined with head geometry that won't punish you if you don't get the shaving angle quite right.

The blade is clamped securely, so blade chatter is minimized and the shave stays smooth.

Against the grain on the first pass, intentionally or not, is possible without getting nicked. It's a great feature for head-shaving, for when you're in a hurry, or if your beard doesn't grow straight and mapping it accurately is difficult.

Shave angle comes up a lot when discussing the CB. Many of our fans like the CB just the way it is, but a number of wetshavers prefer a more traditional shave angle. The Overlander runs closer to the nominal 30° and doesn't ride the cap the same way that the CB does.

The large passages on the underside of the plate make it easy to dump shaving swarf.

The Overlander is designed around one plate and one handle. The blade tabs are covered.

The entire razor is constructed from solid brass and is bead blasted for a subtle matte finish. As is the case with all uncoated brass items, a patina will form over time and the surfaces will darken.

The razor is complete and only requires a blade to be ready to use.

Karve Overlander

I recently lost a Feather AS-D2 I had been shaving with for years. By comparison, the Overlander is as smooth, but gives a closer shave with more blade feel. While testing against the Rockwell 6S, I noticed that both delivered smooth close shaves; however, I settled on the Overlander due to better ergonomics, a more balanced feel in the hand, and the more refined appearance of the razor. I polished the brass to a shine and it's now a thing of beauty. Definitely a keeper.

Krave - OVerlander - Brass

I bought this version with a 4 in.z handle directly from Karve after watching a video about it here on Razor Emporium. It's has become my favorite shaving tool so far; however it is very mild much like my Henson (aggressive). It's beautiful, nice weight, fantastic grip even when wet, feels good in the hand. It shaves so lightly I find that I have to push some to get a good cut, (I used a Voskhod blade). I have not cut myself even once with this razor, it's designed to keep your skin safe and smooth. My only complaint would be that it took almost 8 weeks to arrive from Karve (they are a very small shop) - Ordering here from RE would be a much faster delivery. I am happy with my purchase and can highly recommend.

Overlander Brass Double Edge Saftey Razor

I heard this was an efficient razor with a mild blade feel. It has a very good reputation and I'm happy to say it easily meets my expectations. I'm very happy w/ the way it shaves. I can describe it as a tiny bit more aggressive then my well loved Henson medium, but w/ a more satisfying hand feel ( grip & heft ). I can autopilot this razor no fear of getting nicked. It is at the top of my meager 5 razor collection. I'm very, very satisfied!
