I already own two Rex adjustable razors. (the regular and the slant). I thought this would be a good travel razor being a little trimmer than the adjustable. It is, however it is a bit too aggressive for me. I hope Rex offers replacement heads for sale with a smaller blade gap/not so aggressive.

I wasn’t necessarily skeptical when purchasing this slant, rather I was anticipatory. I’ve tried some slants before and didn’t find that I got enough blade feel. Men’s beards have different needs. I have very coarse beard hair, and it runs it all kinds of directions, and so need a very efficient razor with blade feel that can do the work. I also have very sensitive neck skin too. While I had settled on the Tatara Masamune Nodachi (both open and closed comb) I thought I would give another slant a try. The Sentry is everything I hoped it would be. Effortlessly efficient, smooth, enough blade feel, kind to my sensitive skin. It’s a real keeper. While I cannot speak for hair conditions on other men’s faces, if you’re like me, this could be a winner in your shave den. Great, quick delivery too! Give it a try.

The Sentry slant razor is amazing! I've been collecting razors for years but was resistant to try "slant" razors. I didn't understand them, thought they were "strange." I bought this mainly to complete or balance my collection but WOW! This razor gives the closest, smoothest, all-round nicest shave of any of the 50+ razors in my collection! It's smoother, has less irritation and cuts closer than any of them! Highly recommended! Wish I had tried this "new-fangled" innovation a long time ago. It's become my daily driver, my favorite all-round daily shaver. You won't be disappointed!

Had been considering a slant razor for several months. After a bit of research, I decided on the Rex Sentry. Wow!! Glad I did. High quality razor, stainless marine grade steel. This is one smooth shave!!!!

The razor is great and has turned daily shaving into breeze. I am newer to wet shaving and the other razor I had been using (Henson Al13 which is itself a great razor too) I would have to wait a day or two before shaving again to avoid irritation. The Sentry is my 1st slant razor so I am not sure if this is true of other slants, but the Sentry just cut through stubble with easy leaving no irritation on on my skin. Now I know every one is different and this might just be the case for me but this razor just works for me. Since buying, I have started daily shaving just because I enjoy the process and smoothness of my skin now. The one mistake with this razor I made is that I I purchased standard handle. The longer handle would have made for easier head shaves but I think I can just purchase the XL handle separately and it should fit the base plate with no issues. This is something I can ask and purchase out there in February during the shavers meet up. Thanks Rex Supply for making a awesome razor!!

I Love, Love, Love this razor !!! Effortless close & comfortable shave from the beginning. I've ran a number of blades through it, REX, Nacet, Tiger platinum were the nicest shaves. Astra green and Derby black were pretty good.

My first slant and a stunning razor. Great shave feels great in the hand would highly recommend.

I used the Sentry for the second time today, Tuesday 8th October 2024, and I took a chance that it would be better with a quality blade in it as opposed to the old PAA blade I used previously. Well, I am shocked. This is an astonishingly good razor. With no pressure and a good Razorock Chicago lather I got a slick and mild shave. I only got redness on one side of my neck where the hair grows in a circular pattern. I don’t know how to properly shave that part but it is no fault of the Sentry. So yes it a great razor. If you see my first review I was ambivalent about it. Now I’m sure I love it.

I recently purchased a Rex Sentry razor based upon the recommendation that this razor was especially good for those with coarse beard hair but sensitive skin. I find that razors that are too mild do not give me a very close shave, but those that are too aggressive give me a close shave with way too much irritation. I have now had seven shaves with the Sentry, and I can say that this razor seems to be the perfect balance for me between efficiency and comfort. I am getting the closest shaves I have ever consistently had and yet not experiencing any irritation. So far, the best blade pairing for me has been the PermaSharp. I am a daily shaver, so getting irritation started can be a big problem. So far, I have had none at all, and my skin is actually looking better than ever. There has been some chatter about how difficult it is to load the blade on this slant, but I have found that if you just lay the blade on the bottom of the top cap, align it with the tabs, and press the bottom cap between your fingers, it snaps right into place with no issues at all. You will find the Sentry a great addition to your shave den, especially if you are like me and have coarse facial hair and sensitive skin. You won't go wrong with this razor!

What an excellent razor. First shave was great! What I can say is this seems to get as close as my Envoy but without any perceived blade feel. I am pretty blown away. I have a few high end razors and the Sentry may dethrone my favorite razor.

The Envoy I used on occasion. I get close great shaves with it but I need to be more mindful of my shave angle with it which is why it was not used daily. Still loved it though. The Sentry gets me as good a shave but is more on the autopilot side of things than the Envoy.

The only thing I need to get used to is loading the razor. That part is a little tricky, not dangerous just gonna take some time to get to the point that I can do it mindlessly.

The Sentry is a razor for experienced shavers, hands down. Also you need a good quality blade like a Feather in it. It performs poorly with a milder blade like the Parker Platinum I used. Also, only go with the grain. Across the grain and against the grain makes easy nicks and razor bumps with this razor. 3 out of 5 stars. Just average first up experience. Need practice with it but I’m not willing to use my face as the test bed.

Looks absolutely beautiful i am sure it will be just as good as my Konsul.

Been a huge fan of the Merkur 37C and wanted to add a more high-end razor with the same design to my collection. Slant razors are amongst my personal favorites as they don't cause irritation and shave with virtually no cuts. Been eying the Rex Supply Sentry Slant since it was first announced and purchased it as soon as it became available. It's a beautiful, very well made razor and shaves like a dream. I have a soft spot for Razor Emporium because of their great service, friendly staff, and being the very first (and so far only) actual physical brick and mortar wet shaving store I ever purchased shaving supplies from. I'm also an Arizonan, so there you have it. I admire these guys and shipping and packaging was great and super fast. The only reason I gave it 4 stars out of 5 (I wanted to give it 4.75 or at least 4.5 but that's not an option in the rating drop-down menu) because the finish is slightly inconsistent. There was a super minor blemish that didn't bother me as much, but the brushing of the standard finish was not the same on both sides of the base plate. Honestly, very minor and definitely not worth doing anything about. However, I did notice it.
Besides that, the razor is amazing and I love everything about it. Looking forward to complementing it with one of Rex's Deco Shaving Brushes and a travel/carrying case.

Razor emporium has perfected the slant razor. This razor is easily the smoothest slant razor ever produced in my opinion. The only slant razor that you may consider smoother is the Rex supply Konsul and that’s only because it’s adjustable. The issue I’ve had with slant bar safety razors is the aggression. Whether it’s a Merkur, ikon, Fatip, or even the Parker semi slant they are just on the more aggressive side of shaving. For 48 hours of beard growth, all these other brands of slant razors do a great job but they are not daily driver slant razors, at least not for me. The Rex supply sentry though can easily be used as a daily driver slant razor or could tackle multiple days of beard growth. This is a classic three piece slant bar DE razor that delivers a great shave and proud American manufacturing. A great product.
