Fantastic shave soap!! Ultra smooth lather. Easy to work up the lather!

I've been using this soap for a couple years now. Really like a Tallow based soap and really like the 1955. Love the smell and the shave I get. My ridiculously hard to please wife and daughter continually complement me on smelling good. (Shocking). Really like the 1955 Balm as well. Great work guys!

I chose the 1955 soap to try this last visit and also purchased the splash and cologne. Wow! Thoroughly impressed by the scent of this soap and how well it lathered. Shave was smooth and so satisfying. When I was done and standing there with a hot towel on my face I couldn't get over how much I loved this scent. Was reluctant that it was floral at first but then I embraced how fresh and clean it is. And a bonus was my face felt so cool and fresh post shave. Some splash and a spritz of the cologne and I felt so refreshed. So pleased with this one and it's my new favorite for the warmer weather. Highly suggest this one and don't let the floral notes discourage you, it's extremely pleasing and sophisticated. This one made my relaxing ritual of shaving feel heavenly! Cheers!

This is one of the best shaving creams I've ever used. It smells clean, fresh, and slightly floral. It lathers up very nice and easy. The shave is very smooth.

I have to say that I was nervous when I kept reading this soap had floral notes. Normally, that is a hard no for me in terms of scent. However, I was intrigued. There is a slightly flora (very light) but clean sent. A gentleman wrote previously that it reminded him of the old Ivory soap. I agree with that. Give it a shot.

I've had and tried out this soap for a few weeks now, and I have to say that this is my new favorite scent. That says a lot because I'm a big Old Spice guy. It kinda reminds me of Ivory soap, but improved upon with a masculine touch of sandalwood and vetiver. It offers great glide as well as protection during the shave and builds loads, literally, of lather. After wringing out the brush and rising I could have shaved again. I'm hopeful for all the matching products like bar soap or an EDP. Thanks so much for this main stay. Good stuff!

Love the smell and was pleasantly surprised how well it lathered compared to the normal soap I’ve always bought and used.

Switching from canned goo to shave soap for the first time. Ive never tried vegan so i can not speak to the difference between tallow and vegan but I van say that this is the best shave i have ever had. My face hates shaving and i have avoided it most of my life but with the RE pre shave and this tallow soap i am now looking forward to the routine. My face has never been this soft or hydrated and i didnt even feel the need to stick my face in the freezer after my shave like i normally do. I never had a grandfather so i can not confirm that it smells like a grandfather but i can confirm that it smells clean and fresh. It is not overpowering or overbearing and just smells good. I got it with the splash and balm and the system is great. Came very well packaged and as advertised. Highly recommended from this first timer. Will buy again.

Fantastic soap, great protection on the highest level like the tallow version of Tabac etc. Love the scent but could be even stronger for me. I will order the After shave too.

Great shave soap. Lathers quick and leaves my skin feeling hydrated. Smells great as well, I use it with the 1955 shave balm, perfect combination.

Love the scent and lather of this shave soap. It brings me back to the first time I went to the barber shop for a cut and shave.

The smell of this takes back to Trivets barershop. I was there again with Dad getting a haircut!! The soap makes lots of long lasting lather. It is slicker than "ya know on a doorknob." It leaves my face feeling like lotion has been applied.

First time using a tallow based soap. Have been wet shaving for 30+ years and have yet to experience anything to this degree. Invested in quality shave hardware from RE and now planning on exploring more scents and offerings. The previous review stated that the soap was mushy. My lather routine consists of taking a dime sized portion and adding to my shave bowl. Not adding water to the container. Possibly could cause the soap to degrade over time with that method?! Suggest using a good textured bowl for lather. Has never been an issue for me. Lather to spare. Excellent scent, feel and shave with the REX 1955.

Love the scent of this soap. So does my wife. The soap itself is good. It very mushy. Which I didn't expect. The other soaps are kinda hard. I can't lather from the container. After lathering, it seems to break down quickly. Slick enough and washes clean. The aftershave is outstanding.

Softer than the 1966 this cream has a wonderful fresh scent that leaves me soft and supple. It performed beautifully.

Just like the ‘66, but with a different scent. A winner for sure.

Love this 1955 soap. This is a tip of the hat to a simpler time, but I guarantee they didn’t have any shave soap like this back then…

Incredible lather, Incredible scent, well done Matt, leaves my skin feeling so soft and nourished! This is now my number 1 go to soap! worth every penny!!!

First off this product is phenomenal. This is the first tallow based shave soap I have used and it feels great on the skin. Provides a great barrier between the blade and skin. I have sensitive skin and after the shave is done leaves my face feeling great. Oh and did I forget to mention the scent is fantasticand if the rumers are true I can't wait for the other two 1900's line to come out. Definitely became my new go to shave soap for sure.

Gives an almost instant rich lather with warm water, and enhances my shaving experience. Love it!

I was so impressed with a small sample I received when I ordered a different soft-soap that I ordered the Rex Supply 1955 shave soap. Also included was a ripple bar of pre-shave soap which I also enjoyed!
The Rex 1955 whips up with into a very robust lather and fantastic aromatic aroma. Great cushion and a very satisfying shave.

Matt’s description of this scent is right on target and the soap’s performance is excellent as well. I would definitely buy the cologne if it’s ever available.

I was hesitant at first since usually home brand sucks. BUUUUUUT I went ahead anyways because of the YouTube video explained the details of the product in depth. I absolutely fell in love with the smell and most importantly the feel after using the tallow soap, I REALLY don’t feel like needing a splash (I did it anyways). I am now looking forward to finish my soap and get a barbershop.

It works great. Unfortunately it has a floral odor that is unpleasant. It reminds me of a rose soaked in dog water. It lathers great. It is easy to use. And it is very affordable. I just can't get passed the smell.

The best shaving soap I’ve used in my 50+ years of wet shaving. Lather’s up nicely and works well with either a double edge or straight razor. Squeeze the excess out of the brush to wash your freshly shaven face, very soothing. The fragrance is extremely pleasant, like a Spring morning. Ok maybe not exactly like a fresh Spring morning, but you get the point.
