Rex Supply Co. | 1955 Old World Aftershave Splash

As with the others in this series, the after shave splash was invigorating and had some staying power throughout the day. I did not expect to like this one as much as I did, but it has become my second-favorite scent in this series. The floral notes give 1955 a clean, masculine vibe, and I found myself channeling Doc Brown, Perry Como, and a teal blue 1955 Chevy Bel Air. I recommend pairing this after shave splash with the 1955 shaving soap for a well-rounded experience. I would give this one 6 stars if I could!

They changed the formula and it is definitely not as good. I've purchased this 3 times over the last couple years because I loved it but this last time it is quit a bit different. Has far less scent and doesn't last at all! It also separates now where it didn't before and you have to shake it to mix it up before using it. Im really disappointed that it changed. I won't be buying anymore unless I hear they go back to the original formula. They had a winner and now its a loser.

Someone else commented that this smells like varnish when applied. He's not too far off. Definitely not for me.

I have to say that I really enjoy the shave soap in the scent. The splash is OK. The only reason I say this is due to the initial smell when applied. I find it almost a varnish like when you first apply it. However, that being said it fades into the familiar soap smell. I'm sure it is just me... but...

Smells great and a must have to go with the 1955 Soap

Excellent product. No chemical smell and doesnt feel like scented hand sanitizer on my face. No residue but still left me smooth and hydrated, will purchase again.

This scent stoked memories of going to my small town, rural barbershop as a child. I remember the barber wore a vintage green plastic “dealer visor”. He must have been around 75 years old. He would give me a great haircut and shave the back of my neck with a warm lather and straight razor/shavette. He would finish up my haircut by brushing my neck with talc. Afterwards he would give me a small glass bottle of Coca-Cola which I would drink while sitting on a bench waiting for my dad to pick me up. It’s a wonderful memory that I doubt I would have recalled without using the 1955 splash. Obviously I love this aftershave splash!

I have the 1955 shaving soap, and my wife loves the scent. Decided to try the aftershave splash and balm to complement the soap. I use the splash, then follow with the balm as a lotion. They each do a fantastic job in reducing my skin irritation and redness, but they work even better in unison. This is my first try at Rex or Razor Emporium aftershave products, but they won’t be my last. I’m going to buy a similar set for the 1966 scent.

What a delightful scent. This will leave you soft an supple, a perfect end to your shave.

Very nice! Thought it was going to be too floral for me when I first smelled it. But, after applying, I really enjoyed how it smelled and all the different notes. I don’t expect aftershave’s to have the staying power of colognes, so I was pleasantly surprised by how long this lasted. Also a Thank you to Ashley for taking the time to check the ingredients for me. (Allergy precaution) will by again and will definitely be getting other products in the line.

At first I wasn’t sure how I felt about the scent. I’ve noticed that it has grown on me and I really love it now. After the initial scent mellows a little, it’s absolutely perfect. The burn is mild and leaves your skin feeling refreshed, slick, and hydrated.

Incredible scent! This is "WIFE APPROVED"! Can't wait for a balm! Like the shave soap, this is going to be a long term classic, can't wait for 1966 to come out????

This scent in both the shave soap and the after shave splash is fantastic. It isn't a copy of anything already on the store shelves. It is refreshing with a great long lasting time period. The only thing it needs now is an after shave balm to complete the line.

This smells exactly like it's described. For me the main note is a hyacinth one. My nose picks up something like lilies too. It still comes off as masculine despite its floral nature, but in an old-fashioned way. The face feel after shaving is very nice. This I will buy again. I love that the splash comes in a glass bottle. Five stars.

Yup, just buy it. Best companion scent for your 1955 soap. Splash it on whenever honestly. Subtle, unique, relaxing, wonderful. Yes, already has wife approval here as well. Glad to have a classic scent that isn't just "yet another barbershop variation". But then again, I guess you can't really call Matt and the team guilty of "more of the same" after all! Ha! Keep it up!

Such a nice soothing vintage smell! I bought the shave soap to go with it. Please dont ever discontinue this, it's so amazing.

I recently purchased a bottle of this aftershave at the recent AZ Shavers meet up and I’ve used it paired with the Rex Supply Co. 1955 shave soap and these two work exceptionally well together! The scent is sensationally masculine while the ingredients provide much needed skin relief after a good scraping with a blade. 5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
