Overall the pre shave soap does a great job preparing your beard for an outstanding comfortable shave. When applied and rubbed in it work immediately. The only draw back is the after using it the product can be a little unruly. I wish the placed it in an applicator similar to deodorant container. Again the product is 4 stars

This is the best pre shave I’ve used and I can’t go back to an oil. It’s a great price too. It leaves my face feeling ready for a close shave and does last to the second pass as well. Some folks have issue with the bar format so I suggest using only one side so you preserve the ridges on the other side. Also, make sure to wipe it off your lips. I have tasted it before and charcoal is not tasty! The unscented one leaves no residue scent at all.

I've got skin that reacts to almost everything, and this soap joins the African Herbal soap and Shea butter in the shower as a viable option. It is excellent as a pre-shave. I find the shape awkward as a pre-shave, and recommend the version packaged in a cylinder. This doesn't leave a residue, has zero scent, and is just pleasant to use.

I will definitely continue to use this pre shave soap. I think that it does a better job than any of the other pre shave soaps that I have tried. It is also nice to support a US company.

Really great preshave if one needs one for a smooth shave. Works well on my head before I add my shave soap.

Pre-shave creams can't even touch the staying power of a bar of pre-shave soap. It lasts longer, does the job, and doesn't cost much. My search has ended.

My go to pre shave soap and also my travel face soap. So glad you make this because it doesn't make my rosacea flare up, and has allowed me to try different shaving soaps and creams. It would be awesome if you made a batch with lavender oil and no other added scents/perfumes.

I was very skeptical about this Pre-Shave Soap. I've used pre-shave oils and Proraso pre-shave sporadically and never felt it made much difference. I impulsively added a bar of your soap and eventually opened the package to give it a try. I'm amazed! It's simple, easy-to-use and makes an incredible difference! I absolutely love this stuff and won't shave without it. Thank You! Thank You! For eight bucks, give it a try. I think you'll love it!

I use the pre-shave soap at the sink to wash my entire face. Then I rinse off and go right into a cold water shave using one of my favorite shave soaps. Even with rinsing off much of the pre-shave soap I still get a better lather. And most important I get a more comfortable shave that’s as close to a BBS result as I care to get. Two or three passes be damned! Thanks to The Razor Emporium team for making such a great soap. My skin has never felt better.

Thank you for making this! About a month into getting into wet shaving and trying out different products I found out I have Rosacea. Being cursed with sensitive skin and coarse facial hair I just figured no matter what I used I would always have irritation. Until I found this soap. The soap plus Taylor of Old Bond Street Organic Shave Cream produce a great irritation free shave.
I would try the RE unscented shave cream, but it has shea in it, and unfortunately shea is an irritation trigger. Hoping RE puts out more unscented/shea free products.

I like this a lot, it's fast and easy, and works really well.

This is my first time using a pre-shave soap and I am very impressed how well it works. I have always used a shave oil. I am now forever converted to using your pre-shave soap. Thank you Razor Emporium for all that you do to provide awesome products for all of us and also for your great videos.

The Razor Emporium pre-shave unscented soap produced a nice slick surface to then apply chasing cream on top of. The unscented version has a slight scent that basically disappears after use. A small amount goes a long way. With this said, I have been DE shaving for about two years and still question if I need a pre-shave as using it verses not doesn’t seem to change the shaving experience.

I tried this for the first time and like it a lot. It goes on so easily and seems to work as it should. I’m switching from my proraso sensitive preshave going forward.

This is a decent preshave product and really helps a person decide when trying to choose a pre-shave oil, gel, cream, etc. Plus it's a handy pre-shave for when you travel even if you prefer an oil, gel or cream as your regular pre-shave as there's nothing to spill in a suitcase. It's listed as "unscented" but it has a very mild, but pleasant, scent. Nothing you will smell after shaving.

I honestly like to not only use while shaving but as a daily face cleaner.

This preshave soap is a good compromise when trying to decide on a pre shave shave oil or gel (most of both are way overpriced.) It makes preshave very simple and really helps increase the lather when you build a lather on your face. It says "unscented" but does have a mild but very nice scent.

I love that this pre-shave has no smell so it doesn't interfere with the scent of the shaving soaps. It is really slick a little bit goes a long way.

I've used the soap about five times now and I'm liking it a lot. I never shave without pre-shave oil and this is the first time I've used a soap bar. 1) This applies easily and is very slick. 2) A little bit goes a long way so the bar should last a good length of time. 3) Maybe most importantly, not only does it provide a gliding cushion for your face, but I feel like it's providing me with a closer shave each time with less effort and my face is moisturized and left feeling nicely smooth afterwards. One final note. I do notice that my razor clogs up a little more easily and needs to be rinsed a bit more often, but it doesn't take away from the effectiveness of the soap. Clogging results may vary depending on your razor. (i.e. a Henson for example. Haven't tried it with that yet.)

It provides good slickness and is perfect for my sensitive skin.

I personally find this to be the best pre-shave I have ever used. Not much else to say.

I really like this new pre-shave bar. I've tried different pre-shave products before like Proraso pre-shave and pre-shave oils, and they were OK but not great. The nice thing about this product is that it is very easy to apply (you just rub the bar on your face) and then I spend a moment rubbing it into my beard with wet fingers. It then creates a slick thin layer almost like a "mini-lather" on my face. When I then lather up my face with my brush and shave soap or cream the lather forms very easily which makes the whole process quicker and easier. I also find that I can then shave with less friction and I am less likely to end up with irritation afterward. I think that this product works very well and is a nice innovation at a reasonable price.

Wonderful, what a comfortable shave

Been loving the pre-shave; it works very well, adds slickness, and increases your lather to its potential. The main thing I love about this pre-shave is that it's unscented, meaning I can use whatever soap and aftershave without worrying if the pre-shave will combat that scent. However, you can't go wrong choosing either one; both are great.
