Razor Emporium | Barbershop Small Batch Shave Soap

On my second RE Barbershop Shaving Soap. Love it. Lasts a long time though, which is good for the consumer. I use to use a non commercialized shaving cream, but shaving soap helps you control taut skin.

I like the scent. Not to overpower. Good sleek. Don't need to much water. Very good price and quality. Because the size will last long time. Thank you

This scent reminds me of magnolia trees, but not the blossoms that they are known for. This scent made me think of the bark and leaves of magnolia trees, which have a herbaceous, spicy scent. There's a "woodsy" base with a fleeting floral, green scent that isn't overpowering. If you ever climbed magnolia trees in the deep south as a kid, this fragrance will be familiar to you. The soap base performs well is provides for good cushioning and excellent glide. The scent only lingers for a short while after shaving, but the skin continues to feel supple without feeling greasy. I enjoy the scent enough to purchase the aftershave and EDP. It is unique enough that I don't find much similarities with my other rotational favorites.

I bought three scents of the Razor Emporium shave soaps. I had purchased one a few months ago and I really liked the formula. I like the Barbershop scent the best but the other 2 I bought are nice and provide similar shaving experiences.

My father was a barber, so I have a pretty good frame of reference on what a barbershop smells like. I didn't get it at all, unless the shop had just cleaned the floor with a strong product. It lathers great, like all the other RE soaps.

If there is a problem with the scent "barbershop" it is that everyone probably has their own memories in mind. My barbershop growing up was a place called Michael's about a 10 minute walk from my parents' apartment. The barbers were lifers -- for them it was a profession, and one that they took a certain amount of pride in. The had posters up showing potential haircut choices (the "DA", "High & Tight" etc.) and big see-though containers of that blue disinfectant for their combs. The place had a powdery sort of vibe from the talc they used. That's what I get from this product. It is a clean, soapy scent. I don't get the orange zest or patchouli mentioned in the description, but maybe that's just me.

I use to think shaving lotion, Jack Black, was the best. There is nothing wrong with it. No chemicals. Also Jack Black has great products. But I can control holding my skin in place while wet shaving better with shaving soap. And that’s why I prefer Razor Emporium Barber-Shop shaving soap along with my RazoRock Game Changer .84P.

I guess I an a bit of an anachronism but I really like the historical scents. For me, the smell has a calming effect when I am shaving. Love the scent.

I bought this shave soap on the helpful suggestion of Mr. Dj. It was a fantastic choice! I am very happy with it and personally recommend this to others who, like myself, is just entering the wet shaving scene and this started it with a bang! I will further explore all of the other scents and make shaving a hobby rather than a burden??

This soap wasn't on my radar, but I received a sample of with a recent order. It lathers nicely and has a very pleasant, clean, masculine scent. I'm going to order a full tub.

I bought this product recently. I've used it for a few shaves. It brings up a nice lather with a good lubricating value. The scent isn't what I expected but it's pleasant.

This soap has a nice clean masculine scent, and performs as good as any soap I've used! If you want a more powdery vanilla barbershop, I recommend Razor Emporium Heritage instead, but this is a great take on the barbershop theme! At under $20 you can't beat it.

I wanted a professional smelling shaving soap for work purposes. I happily will use this for work and play. My wife and daughter both like it. The price is also right so that makes it even better. I will buy it again!

This soap is great. Great lather, great suds and lubrication. The only thing not great is the smell - it is incredible! I love it. Too bad the smell does not last long on my face. I highly recommend this soap, and it is very price competitive, great value in fact.

This is my favorite soap (until now) from RazorEmporium.
It whips up an excellent lather, very nice slickness. Scent strength is about a 3 maybe 4 out of 10, very mild, but it's really pleasant. Not overpowering, but a very nice take on the barbershop "genre". I definitely recommend this soap.

Good soap properties, but I wish Matt would go a little more with the fragrances on all of his soaps. Good soap, though. Comfortable shave.

For me, a little more leather and tobacco scent would truly remind me of that old shop. Keep up the great work.

I love this soap and it's grown into one of my favorites. Overall, I feel this scent is more of a clean/fresh scent than barbershop. However, this is also why I love barbershop scents because they're open to interpretation. This soap lathers great and provides good slickness. I wish the scent stayed around longer. To help with this, I pair this soap with its matching aftershave balm. Overall, this is a must own if you're looking into RE for their soaps. it's a staple in my shave den. Awesome job RE!

Lathers up quickly, very subtle fragrance.

This stuff would lather in a minnow bucket with a wire grill brush. It’s great !! Lathered nicely and very Smooth on my face, No burns or scrapes with this. Thanks

Anyway, same thing...easy,slick lather with manly fragrance not too strong.
I love it and am a life customer.
I can tell they make a lot of effort to put forth good products.
I really don't believe Matt would put out any product he thought was inferior or would use himself.

I shaved the evening I got it.
Used after shaving with the matching SE Barber Shop Soap.
When I woke up the next morning I wondered what smelled so good, and realized how manly an great this product is.
I also purchased the new black bar soap.
And same thing. A very satisfying scent and shave.
RE also sent a sample of their sandalwood shaving soap.
And again they are batting 1.000!!!
A customer for life!

The goes back to a relaxing wet shave at a classic barber shop. The lather is just amazing. Thick and luxurious. Nice glide. It comes in a classic container and is priced just right.

Well Matt I gave your BS Soap a try and i wasn't let down. Soap performed well in slickness for me. Gave 4 stars due to scent being lighter than i prefer.
