Razor Emporium | Gillette Ball End Replica Handle

I bought a Gillette ball end replica handle back in February at the wet shavers meetup. Recently I found a Gillette old type ball end razor from 1921 for only $15.00 at East valley antiques in Mesa, Arizona. The plating is in great shape. The ball end replica hsndle really goes good with it. It looks beautiful. I look forward to shaving with it. The original handle has hair line cracks just like Matt talked about so I’m glad i got it I sbdolutely love it I highly recommend the Gillette ball end replica handle if you need one.

I tried using a generic SS Ball end handle on my NEW type. But, It do not fits in the original Gillette box. This one fits ok. Also, my NEW head is brass color and the SS didn't matched. This one does.

Great handle. I bought it to replace the factory handle on a KC Gillette DE razor I bought a few years ago, which I've always thought a bit heavy and cumbersome. This handle is both lightweight and comfortable in the hand, along with just the right length for my hand. Also the knurled finish is superior in non-slip compared to the factory handle. ( The result actually makes a very nice travel razor) Flawless workmanship. Kudo's to Razor Emporium, as usual.

This aftermarket razor handle is a little on the short side, but nicely weighted and well knurled. Mine hosts a Razorock Game changer in a travel kit, and it's perfect. More compact than many of the machined aftermarket handles I have purchased from Razorock and elsewhere. Feels like an upgrade.

I’m sure it’s a common story: You have a Travel Tech. You wish it had a properly-sized handle with the travel handle’s DNA. You don’t want to cannibalize another vintage razor to get an original.

What is man to do? Order this. Marvel at how it somehow looks every bit as vintage as your (1970, in my case) travel Tech head. Shave. Go “ahhhhhh.”

Excellent remake of a classic ball end handle. It’s nice having a lifetime handle that won’t crack. Excellent craftsmanship!

This replacement is great, it replaced the original one because the threads had stiped and wouldn't keep the blade on tight. If you're looking for a great replacement don't look any more just make the purchase. It works just like the original and probably better.

This Gillette ball end replica handle is perfect and what I was looking for. The handle is hollow in the inside, which gives it a lighter weight and makes the razor a little more top heavy for a more maneuverable smooth perfect shave. Already purchased 2 and planning to purchase more.

Very good razor handle almost like the original I got the plain brass handle only thing I had to do was the top cap with the threads that you screw onto the razor head came lose on me but it wasn't a big deal I just put some red loctite on threads it solved that problem other than that it's great.

The fit, finish, and feel is not of the original. My '54 Gillette Tech has a solid brass handle, whereas the Razor Emporium replica is hollow. The replica has larger dimensions and different contours than the original. The threading on the replica is universal and fits well to other razor caps. It's good if you just need a lightweight handle, however not so good if you want the look and feel of an original ball end Gillette handle.

I bought a vintage DE with a cracked handle and it looks like the two always belonged together.

I bought a Gillette Old Type razor that had a handle that was cracked. This replacement is just perfect - very high quality.

I ordered a few variants of this handle for my old Gillette razors, all of which had cracked handles thanks to the historical issue we all know about.
As far as similarity to the original in appearance, the only difference I noticed was that the knurling on the handle is better/more aggressive than the original handles. The handle also weighs more than the originals. Other than that, it looks the same and I'm very pleased with the product(s).

I bought this handle to replace the vintage Gillette handle that came in a service set I bought since it had cracks, and it does the job excellently in replacing it. The handle feels fantastic, and it's worth having.

I came to you looking to date a razor and blades and I’ve been amazed. I’m still here an hour later. Fascinating info and so well presented with facts and charts. I can’t begin to thank you enough. I can now positively ID when the blade was made (2nd quarter of 1943) and can identify the razor in a range of 1939-1947. I am so very grateful. Was going to sell the razor.. now I am intrigued. This is an excellent handle to accompany any razor head. I use it for the razor I take along on trips.

This handle is great as it has threaded ends unlike the original push fit. Better knurling on the handle makes for a secure grip and I now have this as a spare. Thanks.

A wee bit heavier than a "real" ball-end handle, but it still has a good balance. Also a bit coarser knurling, but that might just be an improvement. The head was severely pitted and scratched, but some fine sending and buffing compound made it a good match for the handle.
I no longer have to steal the handle from my Gillette Long-comb New. Yay!

Bought one in nickle and the other in brass. Love them both! High quality product at incredibly low price, great value here. Handles feel very durable and have nice balance. I use them with a pair of Timeless caps/bases. Highly recommend these handles!

The replica handle solves the problem of two hairline cracks in the handle of my Gillette ball-end, old type, 3-piece razor, although the original 90-to-100-year-old handle is still functional. The checkered knurling on the replica is deeper and the checkers larger than on the original ball-end handle, so the replica handle is somewhat “grippier.” Otherwise, the replica matches the ball-end handle closely and looks good with the old head and plate. The factory nickel finish closely matches Razor Emporium’s factory nickel finish on revamped razors. The replica can also be used on other 3-piece razors, such as the Gillette Tech; but it is slightly longer and heavier than the Tech’s “fat handle” and changes the balance slightly.

Great for making a Frankenrazor too. I use it with an R41 head.

This is an outstanding replica of the vintage Gillette Ball end razor handle. The look, fit, and feel of the handle are perfect to replace my original handle with a crack. This handle actually feels better than the original due to the construction and knurling. Vey satisfied with the quality of this product.

This is the second replica handle I've bought. Repeat purchase, can't get better review than that! I like the knurling on this handle much better than the original Gillette. The original seem much smoother. I bought this handle to pair with a $10 new head only I found.

This is exactly what I needed. I have a 1930's Gillette "New" Short Comb that I used to use every day. The handle was a ball end, and had that crack in it near the thread like most of them. It was fine until I dropped the razor on a tile floor and the crack got so big that it won't stay attached to the razor head. The new one looks perfect and fits perfectly. I bought this to replace the handle on my 1918 old. It had a small crack and the olds might as well not have knurling, in my opinion. This handle is very close, I think it be a tad larger diameter. What I really like is the knurling, very grippy!!

I ended up with an extra Old Type Gillette razor head with a razor lot I bought and was looking for an appropriate handle, the head was near mint so the Razor Emporium ball end nickel replica handle was a perfect fit!
