Double Edge Safety Razor Blade Sample Pack | Beginner

The Beginner DE razor sample pack truly gives a great range of Mild to Aggressive blades. As Matt has mentioned in his YouTube videos, a blade that works for one person might not be the best for other person. You really need to sample the razor blades. I found that I prefer the Aggressive blades over the Mild blades. If your are a beginner, I highly recommend trying this sample pack along with sensitive skin and Top 10 to determine what works best for you.

I recently started traveling down the rabbit hole of wet shaving. I was having a hard time getting a good shave with the blades I had bought from a big box store. This sample pack allows you to try different blades of varying levels of aggressiveness to see what works for your skin / hair type.

Great variety. Reminder that 'The sharpest' doesn't mean the best for you/your skin.

Wasn't sure what blade to go with. I can't remember the blades we used back in the early 90s in the military, can't remember what the PX carried. These seems to be a good mixture of blades to get you started.

I think this has to be the best way to find blades that will work best for your skin. For me, I found the the mid-aggressive blades work best. RK being my preferred with the Dorco coming close. Both gave me a good shaves with minimal to no nicks. The two aggressive blades, Astra and Feather were just good, imo and the mildest, BIC just being terrible for me. I recommend the sample pack to anyone leaving cartridge style blades and getting into the wet shave routine. Many thanks, Razor Emporium!

This was just what I needed to begin my DE safety razor journey. I’m working my way up from least aggressive and am definitely noticing a difference. My beard is very thick and my skin not as sensitive as I thought it would be. It’s looking like my preference is for the sharper blades currently. Great price too.

I like the blade selections because you can try the mild to aggressive. Being a newby to safety razors, I like options.

I'm impressed a company compiles and sells sample kits. This one has a good variety of blade types. It's not a one-stop-shop to finding "the perfect blade", but it's a great first step and efficiently narrows down options to find what you're looking for.

It’s a nice bundle of blades for Beginners and those who are returning back to DE shaving.
Make sure you explore all the blades until you find you comfort zone. The ranges go from mild to aggressive.

I like the assortment and the blades furnished. I also like that I don't have to chase around trying to find Double Edge blades to try. These folks really do us a favor by making these samplers available. Why buy 100 to find you don't like them? Not liking 2-3 blades out of a pack of five and moving on is a great help.

Great for starters. Helped me figure out which blades I like. These have lasted me for months!! I haven't even used the feather blades yet. Waiting until I use all the rest to bust those ones out so I have as much practice as possible. Great bargain and helps to guide you towards blades of your choice. Highly recommend. Bought a pack for my Dad to try put.

I’ve only tried Astra blue so far. Astra green blades that i previously purchased were only good for one shave. Second shave left me pretty irritated and cut up, no matter what shave cream I used. Blue wasn’t much different. I still have to try all of the others.

A good way to find out what works.

Bought a safety razor and was looking for some good blades to get started. I saw a video from Razor Emporium in my search with their picks for blades for different levels of experience with a chart showing how aggressive each blade is. It was good to have some thought out picks for beginners. Price was good too compared to other similar variety packs. I couldn't wait for this to arrive. It was packaged well and had the aggressiveness chart included. I'm working my way through starting with the least aggressive. I love these guys. I have learned so much from their videos.

I recieved these recently and they are awesome. It comes with a handy guide for keeping track of sharpness of the different blades. I really like some of the mid-range ones right now. This was a great way to sample and to start out my safety razor shaving experience.

Great shave. I've switched to a safety razor several years ago and always looked for nicer blades to shave with. Now that I have started using a straight razor I still use my safety razor for hard to get areas while I get use to my straight razor.

Very good value I enjoyed the Astra Greens and feather blades the most.

Excellent assortment. As a new wet shaver I love the change to experiment with the different blades. So far i have tried the Astra and dorco blades. The Astra for my shaving seems the ticket so far. Look forward to trying all blades eventually.

I got these to use with my new DE89. My only other experience was with Wilkinson Sword blades. I started in order and simply hated the Lord blades. I ended up not using all of them. They pulled and were rough compared to the Swords. The Astra Blue was very nice. A decent shave with a small amount of tug. I did manage to cut myself with them a few times and they were the worst nicks I have ever had while shaving. Overall, not bad. The Dorcos are awful. Perhaps I had a bad batch but they were not even, some areas sharp, some dull. They tugged. They were very rough - so rough, I only used three before I could not take any more and finished up a shave with the Lords that I really do not like. They made those seem good. Then, Astra Green. Wow! I really love them. Smooth, with no pull, no nick, no cuts. They are best on my neck of any blade I have ever used. No razor burn yet close. I am only on my fourth shave with them but really enjoy them and will likely order a quantity of them. I have not tried the Feathers and they may wait for another day. I want to be sure my technique is solid before going tackling them. In short, the sampler is the way to go. If DE shaving was like some of these blades, I would get the Mach 3 back out. The Blues did not knock me out. But the Greens made me appreciate what everyone says about DE shaving.
