I ordered this with the factory edge as I knew I was going to put my own on it. It was "shave ready" had to check out Ralf's edge. Next day I put my edge on finished with a ILR. Waited to get two days on the beard and got a great shave.

Excellent First Razor; Unknown Scales Material

I'm a professional Barber. I selected this 5/8" Spanish point razor by Ralf Aust because I admire Mr. Ralf Aust's work (a solo manufacturer in Solingen -- you should look him up!) and I enjoy the simple, beautiful design of this razor (but, the "durable, acrylic" scales are nothing special). The razor's performance is SUPERB! ...and the price is reasonable, too.

Excellent razor, strop, and service

I purchased this razor, horsehide and bridle strop, 2 straight razor travel pouches, and a few other things. Received everything in perfect condition and on time. I am new to straight razors so Matt and Patrick patiently answered all my question via email and phone. Shaved with this razor last night and it is spectacular - the best smooth super close shave I've ever had, absolutely no cuts. I am hooked now :). Love Razor Emporium. Will be back for more.
