1966 Gillette NOS L2 Travel Tech Double Edge Safety Razor

After just some minor polishing my new (old) Gillette Travel Tech proved its ah, metal!
I was a little concerned about how easily I would be able to adapt to its smaller configuration....I need not have worried.
Seconds into my first shave I was breaking new ground and was amazed at the facility with which I immediately was able cover everything on one good pass comfortably....perfectly on a cursory second pass.
Since I shave with oil it cleaned quickly and easily exposing all parts after just loosening the handle and warm soapy water.
On my first shave I had comfort and efficiency on this sturdy little razor with virtually no learning curve! It could easily become my go to "daily".

This razor is compact: small but not tiny.

I really wanted a vintage razor and was stoked to find a new/old stock razor.

I also wanted to buy one that was American made.

Thirdly, I always travel and wanted a daily shaver that didn't take up much space.

So, three for one.

I'm looking now for a small case to put it in.

I loosen the handle a bit to change the blade angle and give a more aggressive shave.

If you are looking for American made DE blades I've found that the Persona medical prep blades are made here and are good but I haven't tried them yet. I put a lot of effort into buying vintage or American made.

I have always loved my Merkur travel razor because of its portability, but this Travel Tech gives me a much more comfortable shaving experience with less passes requires for several days of growth. I'm really impressed. Note that I opted to have my razor referbished and it arrived in beautiful shave-ready condition. Highly recommended.

I almost bid on a Gillette Tech with an original leather travel
case from another online vendor for about $12 more, but photos can be deceiving and I really didn't care that much about the case. When I saw new, out of the box, razors @ Razor Emporium I was delighted and ordered one right away. The razor arrived in need of a little polishing but otherwise was in great shape. I got out my Flitz Polish and it looks like New, bright and shinny☀️! Now all I need is to get out my bush, shaving soap, and enjoy!

I bought this razor to become part of my collection of Tech Razors . I love the tech razor for there quality of manufacture and for the way that they shave. This razor has a nice alignment for the blade and and so the blades set even on both sides of the head without having to adjust it at all. I get a very smooth shave from it and it is not aggressive at all . I have an average beard and have been shaving for over 50 year's and most of that has been with DE Razors and some old tech razors that I had from the 50's and 60's . Thank's for carrying these razor's , I love them.
