What We Do

Vintage safety razors pack some of the most bang for the buck, but knowing if they are fully functional, hygienic and shave-ready is a different story. Starting at $29, we offer a professional restoration that helps bring your old-school razor back to its glory days. 

*Please Note: Specialty razors include Bottom Dial Fatboy, Red Dot Fatboy, and Toggle Safety Razors.

How it Works

  1. We first clean your razor in our industrial ultrasonic machine to remove any soap scum, mineral deposits and grime. Disassembly is carried out for the best results whenever possible. 
  2. Next we carefully polish the inside and out of your razor, bringing the vintage metal up to a high luster. 
  3. Mechanical adjustments are made to ensure the best functionality of your razor.
  4. We carry out any painting that is needed - numbers on adjusters, tips on super speeds and black handles. We use color-matched powder coating that exactly replicates the original factory colors and process. 
  5. Razors are again cleaned and sanitized before being lubricated and mailed back home. We include a free Polishing Cloth that will safely keep the shine on your vintage find!

INSTRUCTIONS FOR SENDING YOUR RAZOR IN FOR SERVICE

  2. You will purchase Shipping during checkout, this is how we will return your razor after completion.
  3. You will receive an Order Confirmation E-mail within minutes of your purchase. Click the link that says Shipping Instructions for Service Work and follow the directions. Include the ticket number / bar code scan form in your package.
  4. Send in your razor however you choose - USPS Small Flat Rate box is our recommendation. The postage you have purchased already is for return shipping.
  5. We'll let you know when we receive your razor and keep you updated during the process. 
  6. Our turn-around time is 3-5 business days once we receive your razor.

    time machine

    turned a my Gillette 1962 slim into something brand new,like I went back in time and bought it and brought it back to 2021.they also gave updates by text to tell you every step like when they received and all that. Great job

    Upgraded to Revamp

    I’m a senior widow, who missed her husband’s butterfly Gillette that, suddenly, wasn’t working. Not sure I’d want to pay for a revamp — vs. buying something new (as there wasn’t much to be found) — I wrote with a picture for advice. Happy to hear all it needed was a tuneup, I sent it in. So, I was extremely surprised to hear, later, that it needed an entire revamp, after all... It took much longer than I thought it would, though. For example, it seemed to take almost two weeks from giving the go-ahead for the upgraded service before I even received an acknowledgement. That kinda went along with sending it in, initially, too, when it took two days after confirmation of delivery via UPS — and writing for acknowledgement — that it was there and was in the ‘que’. I understood I wouldn’t hear anything, once in the que, but I expected all the other acknowledgements would happen rapidly — as with the very quick initial email reply. All-in-all, they did a beautiful job. It looks like new. I’m very pleased. Drop one star, though, for the unexpected change and cost in service, as well as poor communication both with verification of receipt and the changes. Foe example, as you can see, even the upgrade — both in the invoice accompanying my razor home and in categorizing my review (above) still show only the initial order, but not the upgrade to the revamp. Hope the inaccuracy in the records doesn’t confuse and/or delay things should a warranty problem arise.

    General review of Razor Emporium

    After over forty years away from wet/double edge shaving, I have started once again. I have purchased two razors, had another three adjustables tuned-up and purchased some blades. The work is second to none and the turn-around is fast. As a "born again" wet shaver, Matt's YouTube videos are invaluable.
