I definitely enjoyed learning how to shave with a straight edge. The overall experience provided by the company was good. But even after a few shaves I could achieve the close shave I desire. Maybe I'm missing something but I have a feeling that the blade was not sharp enough out of the box. Which is fine as an intro this is a good kit and you still get a good shave. Just don't expect baby smooth. Its understandable at least now I know that I like the experience and will sharpen the blade. However, I do now have to go through the effort of sharpening researching buying etc. Overall great but one star off cause of the sharpening.

The kit was as described with the exception that the razor was extremely dull and would not cut hot butter. I was very disappointed in this because it was advertised as being shave ready and could not of been farther from shave ready. The rest of the kit was as described.

Very pleased with this kit. The blade was sharp right out of the box. Good quality razor. Love the proraso soap. First time using the kit I loved how it made my bathroom permanently have that old school barber shop smell that I remember from when I was a kid. The strop is good quality. If I had to make one complaint the only thing I’d say is I wish the kit came with a cheap practice strop to use to learn the technique on before using the good one. I had a few mishaps the first two times I stropped and had to buy a replacement within the first two weeks. It was my own doing though. Had nothing to do with the strop itself. All around the kit is worth every penny spent.
