Our gold plating is hard acid gold which allows for good wear and brightness. We plate exclusively in 24 Karat, the purist form of the element Au (Gold) at 99.9%. It has the highest luster of that deep and rich yellow color. Cleaning of the razor would be similar to any gold jewelry; best carried out by a professional or specialized Gold cleaning products. Rhodium is a metal in the platinum family. It is a bright white shine that will not tarnish like silver. It rates high on the Moh's scale of hardness and is brilliantly shiny.

This product was developed by wet shaving enthusiasts to deliver a fully customizable shaving experience. Inspired by the French guillotine, and perfected by the Germans, a slant razor is the perfect solution for shavers suffering from coarse beards and sensitive skin because of the slicing motion. Smooth Effortless Shaves

I was worried about receiving this razor, due to some mixed reviews about the shave and some mixed reviews on the Ambassador that I have read / heard. Turns out, I had nothing to worry about. Truly neutral blade feel and a steep shaving angle, which is a combination I like. I can use the razor throughout its adjustment range, depending on days of growth, how my skin is on a particular day, and certain harder to shave areas. Probably my favorite razor I own. The build quality is excellent. Some have mentioned it being hard to load the blade, but I’ve not found that to be the case, personally. I drop the blade on the top of the handle, make sure the tab holes are aligned, and put the cap on, making sure the tabs are aligned. Takes only a few seconds.

Konsul slant

The Konsul slant is perfect for me! smooth for my sensitive skin. Made like a tank, great quality, and NO machine marks!! Easy to see adjustment numbers, smooth adjustment control, made of 316 stainless steel, the grip is great, and thank you Matt of Razor Emporium!!!

Great Slant DE razor

I really enjoy this razor and the great BBS shaves. I just returned the Blackland Osprey. The Osprey is a nice razor, but the Rex Konsul Slant provided me with the better shave. Plus, my old eyes can see the numbers on the Rex Konsul, and the Konsul is easy to adjust from 1 to 6. Again, the Rex supply company has made a great razor!!!!!

The Gold Standard

This is hands down the best razor I've ever tried. On a scale of 1 to 10, it's easily an 11. :) I went with the prospector edition and it is beautiful! The shave with the razor provides near zero blade feel and the quality of the shave is out of this world. I get DFS+ results on a single pass and a BBS on the second pass with zero need for touch up. Adjusting the blade via the dial is easy and the numbers are easy to read. The handle is super grippy and the heavier weight of the razor feels great. Blades are a little cumbersome to load, but not a super huge issue that would prevent me from using the razor. This has become my "daily driver" since purchase. This razor is so good, that it is the one that all razors I use will be measured by. However; as great as this razor is it still hasn't cured my RAD. :) Thank you Rex and Razor Emporium for engineering such a superb razor that not only shave incredibly well, but is phenomenal to look at. It truly is a piece of functional art.
