DeLuxe R: Polished to high mirror finish and plated with Rhodium. Rhodium is a metal in the platinum family. It is a bright white shine that will not tarnish like silver. It rates high on the Moh's scale of hardness and is brilliantly shiny.

Rex Supply Co. introduces “The Envoy,” the company’s latest entry in the company’s critically acclaimed line of razors and shaving accessories. The Envoy is a double edge safety razor with an elegant look and a weighted feel that delivers an elevated shaving experience.

Rex Supply Co. brand razors are known to deliver a clean, close shave without tugging, pulling or skin irritations and the Envoy is no exception.It was developed by the company’s wet shaving enthusiasts to bring modern precision and premium features to the economies a fixed blade design.

At first glance, both experienced and novice wet shavers will appreciate the brilliance of the razor’s modern look, crafted in the brilliance of marine-grade stainless steel. The razor feels solid and balanced with its familiar “Sure Grip” handle that inspires confidence through control, even when wet.

The precisely machined cap, guard and handle disassemble smoothly to accommodate the shaver’s choice of most standard double-edge blades. Reassembled, the blade rests at a medium setting, the equivalent of a “3” on the company’s adjustable “Ambassador” model.

With each pass, the shaver will notice how the blade glides almost effortlessly, leaving behind a path of groomed, comfortable skin. As with most fixed razor designs, shavers are free to customize the experience through blade selection for a more or less aggressive shave.

Unmatched, especially for the price

Contrary to what most may experience, this is actually my third razor from Rex Supply Co. (Ambassador, Konsul, and now Envoy) I have dabbled with all of the conventional, popular "bests" there are on the market: Feather AS D2, Rockwell 6S, and Leaf Thorn to name some highlights. This particular razor, however, possesses an intangible quality that not only justifies its price point, but places it at or above the more expensive razors in the lineup (of course according to my face). When I first tried my Ambassador, I was absolutely convinced that was the pinnacle of wet shaving. In large part I still feel that way. However, there is something to be said for simplifying and distilling down a uniquely phenomenal shave experience to its very core. For me, that's the Envoy in a nutshell. It's the Ambassador with none of the decision making. It's the Ambassador on a budget, sacrificing (in my view) very little indeed. It is leagues ahead of the next closest three-piece double-edge (again, subjective here). If you are wanting to infiltrate the Rex Supply Co way of life and are intimidated by the price point, please do yourself a favor and start here. You may just find this to be your 'forever' instrument.

Rex Supply Co. Envoy Stainless Steel 3 Piece DE Razor

Simply wow! Since I've been back to wet shaving I progressed through a fair number of double edged razors. including a Viking Chieftain that I did not like at all, then a Merkur 34c that I enjoyed but thought I could find better, a Merkur 37c that I really liked but really couldn't shave with it every day, and then into vintage Gillettes that I love - Super Speed Blue Tip, Flare Tip and Red Tip (my favorite of the Super Speed Trio), a couple different Fatboys and my favorite adjustable a L3 Gillette Slim Adjustable (and several other Slim Adjustables I've had), and a Super Adjustable 84 that I use for traveling. The Rex Envoy has simply blown them all away. Smooth, yet sufficiently aggressive that I usually only need 1 and a third to 1 and and a half passes to have a BBS save. If I am in a hurry just a little buffing and one pass gets me a DFS. The handle size with the grip is perfect, you are not going to have it slip out of your hand. The head size seems a little longer from end to end as it covers up the ends of the razor blades nicely. The head also is great at easily figuring out your best angle, gets under the nose and and around the lips with ease. The balance and weight is perfect for just letting it do the shaving. Only thing it has to compete with is my getting into straight razors lol. Highly recommend the Envoy, you get what you pay for with this one - great quality, great design, and will last many a life time. Stan S

Update to "Update to my review "Daniel on 16th May 2022" "

Well, I called again and got thru and told them they hadn't sent back my repaired razor after my emailing countless times over months and no replies etc... She said "your emails are not getting through but I did a search on your name and found them". OK, whatever. Anyway - she passed me on to Em who was very apologetic and shipped me a replacement razor the next day, plus a T-shirt and some shaving cream samples. So, I am happy now and Rex is redeemed.
