I’ve made many purchases at RE, but this Rex razor might be the best. This is a beautifully made, precision shaving instrument. I have many razors , but this will be my go to. I purposely let my beard grow for 4 days just to see how the Rex would handle a 4 day growth. I used a feather blade and lathered up with my omega brush ( purchased at RE ) and wow, the Rex mowed my whiskers down with ease. The knurled handle avoids slipping and assures a good grip. This razor is one solid, hefty piece of stainless steel. Buy one , you won’t regret it

It is a dream come try, Stainless steel, incredible knurling on the handle. Blade aligns perfectly. Not too mild not to aggressive. Will be pasted on as an heirloom. It’s not made in Germany, not by an artisan in the Canadian wilderness, but right here in the USA. You can’t get a better shave. Shave with the best,

Contrary to what most may experience, this is actually my third razor from Rex Supply Co. (Ambassador, Konsul, and now Envoy) I have dabbled with all of the conventional, popular "bests" there are on the market: Feather AS D2, Rockwell 6S, and Leaf Thorn to name some highlights. This particular razor, however, possesses an intangible quality that not only justifies its price point, but places it at or above the more expensive razors in the lineup (of course according to my face). When I first tried my Ambassador, I was absolutely convinced that was the pinnacle of wet shaving. In large part I still feel that way. However, there is something to be said for simplifying and distilling down a uniquely phenomenal shave experience to its very core. For me, that's the Envoy in a nutshell. It's the Ambassador with none of the decision making. It's the Ambassador on a budget, sacrificing (in my view) very little indeed. It is leagues ahead of the next closest three-piece double-edge (again, subjective here). If you are wanting to infiltrate the Rex Supply Co way of life and are intimidated by the price point, please do yourself a favor and start here. You may just find this to be your 'forever' instrument.

Simply wow! Since I've been back to wet shaving I progressed through a fair number of double edged razors. including a Viking Chieftain that I did not like at all, then a Merkur 34c that I enjoyed but thought I could find better, a Merkur 37c that I really liked but really couldn't shave with it every day, and then into vintage Gillettes that I love - Super Speed Blue Tip, Flare Tip and Red Tip (my favorite of the Super Speed Trio), a couple different Fatboys and my favorite adjustable a L3 Gillette Slim Adjustable (and several other Slim Adjustables I've had), and a Super Adjustable 84 that I use for traveling. The Rex Envoy has simply blown them all away. Smooth, yet sufficiently aggressive that I usually only need 1 and a third to 1 and and a half passes to have a BBS save. If I am in a hurry just a little buffing and one pass gets me a DFS. The handle size with the grip is perfect, you are not going to have it slip out of your hand. The head size seems a little longer from end to end as it covers up the ends of the razor blades nicely. The head also is great at easily figuring out your best angle, gets under the nose and and around the lips with ease. The balance and weight is perfect for just letting it do the shaving. Only thing it has to compete with is my getting into straight razors lol. Highly recommend the Envoy, you get what you pay for with this one - great quality, great design, and will last many a life time. Stan S
