I ordered and received this razor a few years ago. I wasn’t all that impressed with it then because it was WAY overly aggressive. Since then I’ve heard their have been some design mods and the razor shaves differently. Hearing this I had to order and try it again with the biggest risk being I may have to make another eBay sale. This time I notice the adjustment dial seems to make much more of a difference and it’s not nearly as aggressive as before. There is blade feel, but is a very smooth razor with excellent balance as before. Initially I experienced a slight hiccup by receiving my razor with some scratches on the cap, but DJ expedited the shipment of a new cap. I received it immediately! Overall, EXCELLENT experience here with Razor Emporium. The Emporium and PAA are now my ONLY shave supply “go-to’s”. Thanks again Matt! It was really cool to be able to speak with you! This razor is AMAZING in EVERY way!! Craftsmanship, grip, weight, material, milling and machining. Absolutely checks every box for superior quality in regard to a high end DE razor. The balance is great. The shave is smooth. I love being able to adjust the blade so effortlessly with that dial that is easily tuned with the slickest hands. The handle is so easy to keep a good grip on with the exceptional knurling. I could go on and on. There's nothing else you can ask for in a razor. The customer service is EXCELLENT as well! I would not hesitate in making another purchase here. Matt and his team really do provide a supreme quality product along with the BEST customer service.

Good things; The adjustability is very good, the shave is good, weight and balance are excellent, the speed of shipping is fantastic. Bad things; Packaging although it looks great, did not hold the razor at all and there was enough free room in the box that it must have banged around a lot during shipping or I was given one that had been returned. Machining around the turn knob has dings around the entire circumference. All other areas are fine though. On the head itself the movable portion of the plate has four VERY sharp exposed corners that I wish I could include a picture of…they are VERY prominent and the area must be touched during the blade change. Speaking of which, is difficult and uncomfortable. (And I’m in the business of being uncomfortable….not usually a complaint of mine) the “lugs” on the top cap that go into the slots in de blades are not long enough…..during blade change the blade attempts to shift out of alignment. I’ve been using de safety razors for about 25 years, although I’m not afraid of the price point, and love US made products, this needs an engineer and machinists help to make it worth it. I wouldn’t return it but would appreciate the offer of one in better condition. Thank you, for your time.

Forgot to add, when the razor came, it was loose in the box after shipping. The foam doesn't hold it tight enough, maybe make it deeper or narrower, or maybe find a padded tape to go over the gap to keep it from falling out. It's not a major issue, the thing is built like a tank...
