Received this today and just used it. The aroma of this soap had me channeling John Travolta, the Bee Gee's, Mr. Furly, and my dad's beltless slacks. Starting with the shaving soap, it's more of a croap, being of a soft, pasty consistency. I'm not sure if this is normal, or if the product softened a bit during shipment.. It's Summer as I type this, and Arizona (where the product comes from), and SoCal (where I live), are seeing some record heat waves. Anyway, I smeared a bit on each cheek, took my wet brush, and face lathered. A little of this stuff goes a long way. I got a thick, rich, slick lather that my razor just glided across. The splash and balm smell great as well and you really feel them work. I treat the splash like an alum block, splashing it on after a cold rinse, waiting about a minute, then applying the balm. I think the team at RE did a great job with this. Bottom line is this. Want to smell like a man? This stuff is your huckleberry.
