The Element 47 shave soap from Razor Emporium lives up to its name in one key respect: smoothness. Lathering up was a breeze, and the soap produced a thick, creamy lather that provided excellent glide for my razor. No complaints there. Unfortunately, the smooth sailing ended at the scent. Element 47 is described as a "cool water" scent inspired by a high-end cologne. In my experience, it fell far short of that inspiration. The fragrance was just...off. It lacked the crispness you'd expect from a water-based scent, and instead had an underlying chemical note that I found unpleasant. If the soap scent was a disappointment, the aftershave balm was a full-on olfactory nightmare. It amplified the soap's off-putting qualities, turning the vague chemical tinge into a full-blown assault on the senses. The balm itself felt moisturizing, but the scent was so overpowering that it rendered the product unusable for me.

Great scent and excellent lather

I've tried most of the famous brands of shaving soap and Element 47 is the best I've ever used. Unbelievably slick with thick lather, especially when used with the Razor Emporium pre shave bar. A nice, subtle aroma. Element 47 will become my daily shaving soap.
