Description

Citrus (Agrumes) by Martin de Candre is a soft and delicate fragrance with a base of citric essential oils (lemon, grapefruit and bergamot). The soaps will create a refreshing feel that will stay throughout the day and is suitable for any skin type.

For more than 40 years, Martin de Candre manufactures the finest handmade shaving soaps in the world in Marseille, France. At Martin de Candre, everything is made with a very manual and long process, everything is weighed by hand and manually processed because this is the right way to create the best shaving soap in the world.

Manufactured by a hot saponification process without the addition of any preservatives other than vegetable oils and potassium, the soap is scented by essential oils while it is still hot. The long drying/aging process after this steps takes around 4 to 5 months and creates a very dense soap with an exceptional scent and composition.

The soap has a remarkable longevity and a 200gr jar will last for over a year for a typical daily wet shaver.

In 200g crystal jar with aluminum lid.

* Some advice from Martin de Candre on how to wet shave :

- Thoroughly wash your face with warm water for a couple of minutes.

- Always rinse your shaving brush well under warm water after each use and gently flick out the excess water. Too much water and the lather will become runny and will dry out too quickly when applied to face.
- Brush the shaving soap in a circular, whisking motion with the shaving brush until a rich lather forms. Do not press down on the bristles, as this may damage the brush - simply move in quick circular motions.

- Now use the brush to apply the lather to your beard in small, gentle, circular motions or in gentle painting motions.

Experiment until you produce a good lather.

- When finished quickly rinse the shaving soap bowl-like container under cold water to remove excess foam. Invert bowl so as to let soap drain and dry. Soap dries best when bowl is left open.

A good shaving soap used along with a shaving brush provides an extremely close shave making you feel clean and comfortable.
How the mundane task of shaving turns into a morning treat !!!

    Martin De Candre Shave soap

Thanks Matt and Razor Emporium I just received my Skinsational Esthetics by Savonna and love it. I can see it lasting for years. I have Gentleman’s Groom Room, Rex, Razor Emporium as well as Taylor Of Old Bond Street which are all great. You can’t go wrong with any of these, but I see myself using the Martin De Candre a lot.

    Martin de candre agrumes/lemon

So far one of the best shave soaps I have used. Strong lemon scent, but not over powering post shave. Also one of the smoothest shave soaps I have used as well. Its is little pricey but its glass container and heavy. Like they said it is super condensed soap, I shave about 4 times a week. Had it about a week and looks like I have not touched it. Don’t need a lot for everyday shaving so this well last a long time for the price. If I had to compare what lemon scent it was, It smells like what the soda Starry tastes like. It’s refreshing

    Martin De Cadre soaps

My favorite soap costs 2.45/oz whereas this soap costs $7.80/oz so no I don't think I will switching any time soon.
