I've been wet shaving for roughly 20 yrs. I've tried a handful of razors from mild to aggressive (Merkur Future). In a variety of materials: cast, stainless, brass, aluminum. For many of those years I always used a Gem single edge razor and Gem carbon blade - a great close shave no nicks ever! But single edge blades are no longer local to me and are harder to find. Now with Henson I get the same great shave but now can use cheaper double edge blades and still get a stiff blade due to the Henson design. Henson is the razor I recommend to my friends that want a reasonably close shave with one pass with no nicks. With a second pass and you get very close to a BSS with no irritation. I highly recommend the RK blades. Just give yourself a few weeks to master the razor. This angles of this razor is slightly different from other razors.

This system forces the razor into an arch. The whole thing feels like it's one solid piece.
