The revamp works beautifully. Razor is like brand new from like when it would be used after buying from a store. Razor Emporium does a fantastic job with vintage Gillette razors. Very impressed!

Many years ago I purchased vintage Gillette razors from the bay/boards and was not thrilled with the shaves I got from them. I have recently decided to give them another chance, and opted for Razor Emporium, as I don’t think there’s anyone more reliable and knowledgeable in the vintage Gillette razor business. First I bought a replated Fat Handle Tech and immediately fell in love with it. How could I have missed it for so long? Perfect size, weight, angle, and shave. Following this positive experience, I decided to indulge myself and made to order a Slim and a Fatboy, both in nickel. In parallel, I also purchased the same razors from a shaving forum in good but user condition, because I wanted to understand the differences (if any) and value from RE’s service. Here’s my conclusion: - Made to order: everything is perfect in my Slim. The looks, fit and finish, the even blade gaps, the quarter turn, the straight bar, the doors mechanism. It’s really impressive and I’m sure it looks better than new. Wow, it shines! The shaves it provide are sublime and just feels awesome to own a brand new 1966 razor. Only slightly minus is that the adjustment dial and the quarter turn are a bit stiff initially, but they break in with a couple of uses. I attribute this to the high level of fit and finish done by Matt’s team here - user grade Slim: it cleaned up very nicely with a few soaks and scrubbing and buffing with polishing compound, and it shaves well, but it doesn’t look and feel the same. Granted, I paid $35 for it. I’ve been lucky with the blade gaps, they are even and look correct. Some razors from the bay come with uneven or wrong blade gaps and are usable only in the highest settings Overall, I’m very pleased with my M2E purchase and experience. It’s not cheap, but the quality is there and I’ve paid more for lesser modern razors. I love my new (literally) Gillette Slim from Razor Emporium.

I ordered my Made To Order in Rhodium finish. In a word, WOW!!! I have other Gillette vintage razors that I use regularly but this one is a work of art. It is a pleasure just to hold it admire the beautiful finish. Beyond the aesthetics, the razor functions flawlessly and and provides a very smooth and clean shave paired with a quality blade. Not much more can be said about this beautiful razor that hasn't already been said. Highly recommended for anyone that enjoys using vintage razors. Thanks Matt and Team...a job very well done.
