    Very good for sensitive skin

It takes some getting use too and requires more skill in using it, as opposed to the traditional raisers that are used today. But once you get the hang of it, the safety raiser is a very efficient tool that does not leave any cuts or raiser burns when shaving. I find that I am breaking out less and less due to using only one blade and not 3 to 5 blades, that I believed was causing the breakouts.

Head screw broke before I got to use it

After taking the razor out of the box, I unscrewed the head to place a blade inside. The screw broke off before I even got a chance to use the razor. It appears to me that the alloy used in making the screw is not strong enough and should not be used in making a man's shaving razor. It should be able to withstand the rigors of shaving... pulling, twisting, or even being dropped in the sink, A $50.00 razor should last a lifetime. I will be returning this razor broken...and still unused.

    Good razor

Good weight and does what it needs to do. I wish the website would list all of the "starter" razors together so people have a better idea of what to first buy.

    First DE Razor

I'm 50+ and this is my first DE Razor. I did a lot of research online and the Jagger DE89 kept coming up as a very good entry level razor. Since I live in Phoenix I decided to check it out in person. I compared 3 razors WSP , DE 89, IKON Shavecraft 101. I'm glad I was able to hold each one and compare side by side. After asking questions, taking them apart, putting a blade in each of them etc. I settled on DE89. Fit, finish and feel is top notch. The weight was noticeable - heavier than the WSP but not has heavy as the IKON. Price was in between the other two. After using it for a week, I found the handle to be slippery. My solution was to use shrink tubing on the handle. That got rid of the slippery and allowed me to use a looser grip to let the weight of the razor do the work. I am now very satisfied with my DE89. I get a better shave with the DE89 than with a cartridge or disposable. However, I spend a lot more time prep'ing, lathering and shaving passes I'm having a ball refining my technique, using different blades, soaps, brush combinations. I look forward to shaving each morning where before it was a non-event, get 'er done chore.
