I got this on recommendation from talking to the owner after initially calling to explore a refurb on a 50s vintage gilette razor I'd picked up that wasn't doing well with the Derby blades I'd used for a long time with a different razor. After describing my beard (coarse, thick, heavy) and my face (chin cleft, deep crease where lip and nose meet) and the condition of the razor itself, he suggested I try this pack before refurb'ing the razor ("probably just your blades"). So far I've only tried the red box "personna", but the difference is night and day. A new derby blade pulls and nicks skin easily. After 2 shaves with personna I've had no nicks and clean shaves. Even if the rest are bad, the sampler was worth it to find these blades. Maybe some are even better?

I've recently given up my straight razor. Hands shake too much now. Blades in this set are sharp enough to use a gentle razor, Rockwell, and get a clean (BBS) shave with minimal irritation. So far, Feather is my favorite.
